THERAPY WITH MALE MENTAL HEALTH IN MIND
Therapy for men
There's nothing to measure up to here.
You may know the feeling of quietly measuring yourself against other men — stronger, steadier, earning more, coping better. That kind of ranking often runs in the background, mostly unspoken, and one thing it can do is make needing help feel like losing ground, or being somehow less of a man.
Whether or not any of that rings true for you, here's what I can offer plainly: this is a space where none of it applies. You're not being assessed. There's no version of yourself you have to perform, and no bar to clear. You're welcome exactly as you are — including "I don't really know why I'm here," or "this is probably nothing."
There's no threshold you need to have crossed to come, and no right amount of struggle that qualifies. If part of you is reading this while telling yourself it isn't that bad, that's welcome too. You don't need the right words. We can build something new together.
Some of what I work with men on:
-
Sexual difficulties — erectile difficulties, performance anxiety, loss of desire, compulsive pornography use, chemsex
-
Things that can feel impossible to tell anyone — including online experiences, blackmail or sextortion, and harm that was done to you (it happens to men, and it does not mean what you might fear it means)
-
Trauma — including military and conflict-related experience
-
The inner critic that no achievement seems to quiet for long
-
Anger, numbness, and whatever sits underneath them
If it turns out that the part of you that can steady you and be on your own side hasn't had much room to grow, that's something we can build together — it isn't missing, it may simply never have been given the conditions. That's often a quiet part of the work.
Therapy with me is steady, direct and practical — no pressure to cry, no expectation you'll open up on cue, no judgement about anything you say. Whatever you choose to bring, it won't change how I look at you. (My background is in men, shame and trauma — including war and conflict, and the experiences that can feel impossible to say aloud.)
